Three people were taken to hospital suffering from the affects of drugs and alcohol at a dance party in Canberra at the weekend.
The event, held at a warehouse in Fyshwick, was billed as the afterparty for the Art, Not Apart festival in the city on Saturday.
Emergency Services Agency spokesman Joe Murphy said ambulance officers attended the Tech Yes “rave” with police.
“They did transfer three people for drug and alcohol intoxication … so a few people were quite sick and ill there,” he said.
“From our point of view this was an ambulance response but certainly police did attend too.”
ACT Policing also attended in response to a number of noise complaints and went to the address about 5:30am.
“Noise was reduced to an acceptable level. No arrests were made,” a police spokesperson said.
Some residents said they could hear the music from the rave from the east side of the Queanbeyan River, about eight kilometres away.
The BYO 18-plus event was attended by about 1,300 people and ran until 7:00am on Sunday.
The party was hosted by Escape Ferocity — described on Facebook as “the darker guise” of the Art, Not Apart festival team — and was described as an “abstraction of technological art”.
