You might recall during Paul Pierce’s final game earlier this month he received some backlash from Brandon Jennings. The backup Wizards guard tweeted, “1 ring don’t mean you get a farewell tour” before ultimately deleting it and then walking back on his comments.
But the clarification was too late: he already made himself an enemy to Pierce. So when the retired player appeared on ESPN’s “The Jump” Friday afternoon and Jennings was a topic of discussion, The Truth saw an opportunity to bury his enemy.
dang paul pierce you didn’t need to do @brandonjennings like that pic.twitter.com/LCgD5uw9QW

“He need to stay there [playing street basketball]. The way he performed in the playoffs this year, he may as well just stay year-round on 4th Street.”
Jennings definitely came up short in the playoffs, averaging just 2.8 points in 13.7 minutes while shooting 38 percent from the field. He also averaged just 1.8 assists per game in the playoffs compared to his 4.7 average in the regular season.
Still, the burn had to hurt. One Twitter user made Jennings aware of Pierce’s comments on Twitter and the guard issued a response on the social platform.
Everybody can’t get the same love Kobe gets! Shrugs* That means he really wanted that Tour. 😑 https://t.co/pxCulSqs4K
