Brooklyn cops shot a man brandishing a weapon that turned out to be a BB gun on Thursday night, officials said.
Patrol officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man with a weapon inside Zaid Deli at 3323 Church Ave. in East Flatbush at about 10:06 p.m., said NYPD Chief of Patrol Terence Monahan.
Officers chased the man north on East 34th Street, ordered him to drop the gun and shot him in the leg when he didn’t, cops said.
The wounded man kept running before officers caught him inside 189 E. 34th St. and recovered his weapon — which turned to be a BB gun, Monahan said.
The suspect was listed in critical condition at Kings County Hospital.
Police said just one shot was fired, though one neighborhood resident observed: “I heard yelling and then a bunch of gunshots.”
