JOHNATHAN Thurston has extended his NRL career.
Thurston announced at North Queensland’s midyear gala dinner on Friday night he has extended his contract by a year.
It ties him to the Cowboys until the end of the 2018 season.
The 2015 premiership winner has already said he will quit representative footy after the 2017 World Cup, revealed to foxsports.com.au earlier this year.
But his NRL career will continue for at least another season.
More to come.
