The movie is coming out this weekend after hitting film festival circuit. Directed by Darren Aronofsky, it’s supported by the likes of , and . It collected a disappointing $3.1 million on the opening day for a projected $8 million weekend, the worst in Lawrence’s career.
When it was premiered at Venice Film Festival, the movie was reportedly booed by the crowd. But the lead actress just shrugged it off, “Our reviews are just cracking me up, people either love it or they absolutely hate it and I think that is so cool, there is not one person that has walked out.”
Jlaw’s previous movie, a sci-fier called “” where she shared screen with , also got mixed reviews. Some of the critics believed it should have been her character, instead of Pratt’s, who woke up at the beginning of the movie. She agreed with them.
“I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t spot it,” she told Vogue. “I thought the script was beautiful – it was this tainted, complicated love story. It definitely wasn’t a failure. I’m not embarrassed by it by any means. There was just stuff that I wished I’d looked into deeper before jumping on.”
