October 13, 2017

Jennifer Aniston is the latest celeb contributing to relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Maria.

The former “Friends” star has donated $500,000 to the American Red Cross’ disaster relief fund and additional $500,000 to the Ricky Martin Foundation, E! News confirmed Thursday.

“Jennifer Aniston U R amazing Thanx 4 $500k for our #PuertoRico relief fund We will never forget. U R saving lives Jenn #Allin4PR,” Martin tweeted Thursday.

Puerto Rico has been left in a state of utter devastation following the destruction of Hurricane Maria last month. While 63 percent of the residents now have clean drinking water, a whopping 84 percent are without power.

“She is concerned that so much is still needed to be done for the victims of these recent hurricanes, especially Puerto Rico where there is still no power to most of the island,” a source told the site. “She hopes this inspires others to give what they can.”

Aniston, 48, joins the lengthy list of stars aiding Puerto Rico, including Jennifer Lopez, who not only donated $1 million towards the relief efforts, but joined forces with Lin Manuel-Miranda, ex-husband Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, among others, to release a charity single. All proceeds from the download or stream will go to The Hispanic Federation’s disaster relief fund.
