Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield opened This Morning by addressing Ant McPartlin’s drink driving charge.
The presenters, who have previously spoken of their close friendship to the TV presenter responded to the news that Ant had been fined £86,000 and banned from driving for 20 months after pleading guilty to drink driving.
Holly said: “Yesterday, our friend and ITV colleague Ant McPartlin pleaded guilty to drink driving charges and was given a 20 month ban and a fine of £86,000.”
“We’re sending our love to everyone that was involved,” Phil added before they moved on with the rest of the show.
Having stepped down from his TV commitments in the days that followed the accident, Ant has since been seeking treatment in rehab.
However, the presenter, who will remain absent for Britain’s Got Talent, gave a statement outside Wimbledon Magistrates court.

Standing in front of cameras and microphones, Ant issued an apology when he said: “I just want to say I’m truly sorry for what happened.
“High standards are expected of me, I expect them of myself. I let myself down. I let a lot of people down for that I’m true sorry. I’d like to apologise to everyone involved in the crash and I’m thankful nobody was seriously hurt.”
Holly and Phil had initially spoken about their shock just days after the incident involving Ant took place.
“Let’s start with the events from the weekend. This is difficult for us, we’re talking about a friend here. Like many people, we are shocked and saddened by Sunday’s incident involving Ant,” Phil said.
“We can’t say much more as the matter is still being investigated by the police, but we want to wish those shaken and upset by the collision a quick recovery.”
“Personally for Ant, we hope he gets some time and space to return to full health,” Holly continued to comment about her close friend.
This Morning continues on ITV, weekdays from 10.30am.
