NewsCO.com.au–Allen hopes Stoke pick Cherries to end away day blues

May 4, 2017

“We want to get rid of that record. It’s not something we’re proud of so that’s our aim,” Wales international Allen told Stoke Sentinel.

“The last away win we blew away Sunderland with three goals in the first half so we are capable of doing it so let’s hope it’s this weekend.

“It won’t be easy but… with the help of maybe a few results going our way we can get ourselves back in that top 10.”

Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland recently returned to the side after missing 13 months with an ankle injury and Allen believes the squad has been buoyed by the 24-year-old England international’s fight back to full fitness.

“It’s been a tough season for him (Butland) and it’s great to see him back out there doing what he does best,” he added.

“His enthusiasm is great and if he can stay fit for the whole of next season he will be a great asset for us to help us in what we want to achieve.”

Stoke have an opportunity to move above 10th-placed Bournemouth with a win at the Vitality Stadium.
