Crown gets Melbourne hotel tower go-ahead-NewsCO

Casino giant Crown has been given the green light to build Australia’s tallest building – a $1.75 billion, 90-storey hotel and apartments development in Melbourne.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced the planning approval at Crown Towers in Southbank on Thursday.

As part of the development, the government has committed $100 million to public spaces, including upgrades to Queensbridge Square, Sandridge Bridge and Southbank Boulevard.
